World Cup humara hai! :D

Wow! Feels so amazing to witness my country winning the world cup in my favourite sport. Last year I witnessed girls from India winning the 4*400m relay, I felt ecstatic about that but this feeling of having the cricket world cup under our belt is much much more. Me, being from a country where cricketers are seen as Gods, cricket is not just a sport, its a religion, its an undying passion.

From the beginning of the tournament I was pretty confident of India's victory which was further strengthened when I saw the middle order showing class in the league matches. The last three matches of the world cup that India played were probably the best examples of team effort that India has shown in a long long time. Each one of those matches were absolutely prolific.

My heart goes out to all the veterans who were playing their last world cups but more to one particular man - Muthaih Muralidharan. I bow down in reverence to you. I so so wish you were an Indian and I could cheer for you when you would have played in the Indian jersey. My heart fills out when I say that it was the one thing missing in the kitty of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar that was added by this victory - the elusive World Cup. May God bless you for the smiles you and your team has brought to millions of Indians.

Though the final was an amazing one with Dhoni proving why he is the deserving captain, I wanted Sehwag and Sachin to do what they had done to Pakistan in Centurion, 2003. That would have been the ultimate Final. But nonetheless, Dhoni peaked at the right time, it was like he was waiting for this platform to dazzle.

Raina, dude! You are amazing! It wouldn't have been possible without you.

Feels amazing! :D
