Saturday
As usual came to the office and started doing the nothings that I'm supposed to do. Did some corrections and stuff, read some stuff over the internet and sat idle. *yawn* Finally the time came when I had to go for the survey. This is something I really look forward to. :D Encountered really weird people that day while surveying. Everyone gave us a different way for the same destination.
IPL Final
The match was so unworthy of being a final. CSK literally demolished RCB. Gayle storm was reduced to a baby blowing his birthday candles. I think there should be a new phrase now, 'As lucky as Dhoni'.
I saw half the match at Nandan ji's and rest outside a Panwallah near my flat. The scene there was totally awesome. People buying cigarettes, pan and cold drinks and sitting around this TV on the porch or on their motorbikes and uttering comments on every happening. 'Yeh Dhoni toh saala kismat wala hai, jisse choota hai sona bana deta hai', 'Yeh Dhoni saala koi kala jadoo karta hai, ye doll banake unka gala ghotke aata hoga'. I had never heard people cursing so much on somebody's victory so much!! But whatever Dhoni once again proved that it can't just be luck because for it was just luck then he couldn't have achieved so much.
CSK is a big match team. It has people that raise their performance in crunch situation. Half the side is regular Indian team memebers. Dhoni, Raina, Ashwin, Murali Vijay, Badrinath apart from Hussey, Morkel and Bollinger to choke the opposition. Probably CSK will win the next two season's as well with such a formidable team.
Sunday - Fun Day
At last a holiday. A much awaited one. Arguably, I've never waited for a Sunday more than this one. I decided to make use of it to the maximum. I wanted to go out and asked flatmate for company. He said it was too hot outside so he would just rest at home (it was indeed pretty hot outside). So I started off for my first holiday. I decided to watch Hangover 2 as I had been waiting for it for so long and it was really hot outside so AC was a good bet at that time. I went to this mall called 'Treasure Island'. The mall was pretty big and for the first time I saw some pretty girls in Indore which otherwise a pretty dry state in this matter. *evil grin*
Hangover 2 to disappoints in providing the same entertainment and laughter quotient as the first part but if you don't compare the two it has a pretty decent story line and has some great funny moments which will make you laugh to the core.
After that I decided to do some local sightseeing and first stop was Rajwada. It is the most important building in Indore and was home to the Holkars who were the rulers of Indore. It was really beautiful. Multistoreyed, very intricately carved pillars, marble work, openness and enclosure features were very admirable over there. Then I went to see Krishnapura Chhatri. It is a combination of three temples, I guess, whose top dome is in the shape of a conical umbrella (that's where the name comes from). It was very serene and the detailing of carvings over there was astonishing and spell-bounding. At both the places I felt that people of Indore do not come here much. As both the places were very ill maintained and lacked attendance (attendance part may be because of the heat aspect as well). But its such a pity that people of the city aren't worthy of their heritage and this is not just in the case of Indore, its true for any city.
Came back home and slept. Power went of off. That's when I woke up but I was very reluctant to get up so I just kept lying there in the heat. And suddenly the fan started rotating. I love that moment when the fan starts again after a power cut. Suddenly you feel that nice cold when wind hits your sweaty body. *bliss*
Then we went to this new place for dinner as Nandan Ji is closed on Sunday evenings. The place was suggested by one of my colleagues and its called 'Chappan Dukaan' meaning 'Fifty-Six Shops'. It had 56 shops which are all eating joints and the range of food is awesome but non-veg jyada nahi hai. I had mutton roll and then veg biriyani. Anybody who comes to Indore must visit this place if not anything else. Must see on my list of Indore places. :D
lol on dhoni thing :D
