A clumsy day to start with and then had to go for survey. Survey word seems like a blessing now. We went about driving through the city. Around evening it started raining. And it was raining very very heavily. I guess monsoon has begun properly in this part of India now. We thought of stopping and having lunch in the meanwhile and went to this old looking restaurant near the Govt. bus stand. Had Malai Kofta after a long time and roti with butter dripping out it. :D My devout love of fattening things continue. Cheese, butter, ghee, whatever just give it to me. :D Finished the yummy meal but there were no signs of the rain stopping. We were talking about random things and suddenly a word came 'Pipliyapala'. Pipliyapala is place in Indore where recently a big park has been constructed besides a lake and its designing is done by the firm in which I am training right now. We decided to go there since we were half wet and survey was not possible anymore since our papers would get all smudged. I go for surveys with the draftsman in our office (hereafter referred as Mr. Draftsman) so he was very much involved in the designing of the park and knew a lot about it. As we were walking along the canal inside the regional park he telling me about the details of all the elements over there. After every 10 minutes he will be like 'Yeh walkway maine design kara hai', 'Yeh jo wall hai uski working drawing maine banayi hai', 'Is pure structure ki working drawing maine banayi hai' :D I could feel the happiness a person gets when what he makes gets on ground. The feeling of something that he made turning reality. For the first time in Indore I saw some couples hanging out. It is otherwise a pretty dry state in terms of love birds. You don't find couples walking around even in malls. Just sad! Mr. Draftsman was getting all excited watching all the couples and was wishing to come to that place with his girlfriend. I asked him to bring any girl and telling her all you have done in this park and I am sure that he would get that girl. The park is that impressive.
It has been constructed along a lake, a whole pathway has been made along the lake and there are lights placed inside the lake as well. There is a very cool maze made out of topiary (shrubs cut in a very articulate manner) in which you would definitely get lost like in that movie 'The Shining' there is a big maze in front of the hotel . We decided to play in it for a bit. We both entered from different directions and the objective was to meet in the centre but we just went round and round here and there but couldn't find each other, finally we had to phone each other to meet at a common point. There was a really cool section called the Artist's village which is made in Rajasthani style and it had the most amazing landscaping in front of it. The lake has a canal which encircles the entire park and a walkway runs along it. So its a great joggers track as they can run along the water canal and enjoy the beautiful morning or evening. There are beautiful resting huts made in Maratha and Rajasthani style in red sandstone lookalike.
We were staring at this group of youngsters, 2 guys and a hot chick and standing. Suddenly,
Mr. Draftsman: Yaar Dilli me toh maine suna hai bohot hot ladkiya hoti hai.
Me: *embarassed* Aisa nahi hai.
Mr. Draftsman: Nahi nahi maine bohot logo se suna hai ki waha pe sab chote chote kapde pehenti hai, bohot mast hoti hai.
Me: Haan, hoti toh hai. *gyan time* Dekho aisa hai farak outlook me hai. Waha pe ladkiya kaafi casual hoti hai, matlab unhe kuch jyada farak nahi padta. Aisa nahi hai ki sab sundar sundar ladkiya hoti hai, sundar ladkiya toh Indore me bhi hai par pehen ne ka dhang, ghumne phirne ke dhang me farak hai bohot. Bas ussi farak se aisa lagta hai ki Dilli ki ladkiya alag hoti hai ekdum.
Mr. Draftsman: Mast hai yaar.
Me: Aadhi se jyada ek dum batameez aur nakcheedi hoti hai.
Mr. Draftsman: Mai toh door rehta hu ladkiyo se ek dum.
hahahahaha
If I had missed this place in my stay in Indore it would have been a big loss. A must visit place in Indore. He was also telling me that before this park came up there was no place to take any guests to when they would come to Indore but now they could take them here and spend the day and relax. And indeed so.
cool place man :)
